Designing and Installing one of the Biggest Double Custom-Made Steel Doors

Customer first encounter and site visit

This door goes into the record as one of Euro Doors' biggest double steel doors ever custom-made. It all began when I received an ordinary phone call from a customer from Ngong in Kajiado County. The customer explained that they were constructing a dream home and had reached the interior design stage but first, they needed to fit all the external doors.

So I dispatched our technical team to the ground but I was so surprised when they sent their findings. Luckily the next morning the client arrived at our showroom in City Cabanas for further engagements.

Lead time and down payment

"Your door width is almost double the size of standard double doors in stock" I exclaimed."Are you willing to wait for 60 days for us to customize and ship the door?".This is because the maximum size of front steel doors that we keep in stock is usually 1500 mm wide by 2300 mm high.

The customer agreed and made their down payment but on the condition that we deliver the door as per the technical details discussed and also within the timelines. So we sat down to design the door as follows before signing the order agreement.

Structure & Material

• Core Material: The door is made of 1.2mm thick steel plates running from top to bottom and reinforced with insulation material (fiber glass or stone wool) for soundproofing and temperature control.
• Frame: The frame is made of steel, adjustable between 180cm to 250cm, and is powder-coated or electrostatically painted to achieve a wooden appearance.
• Finish: It is clad in an African Walnut wood finish, offering a warm, premium wooden aesthetic while maintaining the security of a steel door.

Delivery and Installation

65 days later we delivered the door in Ngong and sent our technical team to do a free installation. The client could not believe their eyes when they saw the majestic door. They have since referred many other customers to Euro door.
